En Clave Baja / In Low Key

Esta serie de fotografías busca la detención de la mirada del espectador. Al ser imágenes en clave baja y de pequeño formato, quien mira, debe parar un minuto, adentrarse en la imagen y transformarse en un observador meticuloso.

La serie está hilvanada por el misterio. Un misterio con el cual nos encontramos con él de pronto y sin saber cómo. Luego nos elude, se evapora y reemerge en la imagen siguiente. Este revelar y desaparecer no se puede explicar o comprender, tan solo se puede descubrir. Se trata de algo reservado, secreto y recóndito, propio de una imagen reflexiva.

¿Qué es una imagen reflexiva? Es aquella que nos conecta con la intimidad del momento fotografiado y nos muestra, a la vez, un reflejo de nosotros mismos. Al ocurrir esto, las fotografía pasan a ser una suerte de amuleto o de aleph, un destello huidizo en aguas oscuras.

This series of photographs seeks to engage the viewer's gaze. As they are low-key and small-format images, those who look must stop for a minute, enter into the image and become a meticulous observer.
The series is string together by mystery. A mystery with which we find ourselves suddenly and without knowing how. It eludes us, evaporates and re-emerges in the next image. This revealing and disappearing cannot be explained or understood, it can only be discovered. It is something reserved, secret and hidden, typical of a reflective image.

What is a reflective image? It is one that connects us with the intimacy of the photographed moment and shows us, at the same time, a reflection of ourselves. When this happens, photographs become a kind of amulet or aleph, an elusive shine in dark waters.
